Progression is something we actively encourage, with many of our team members developing into management roles and beyond. Our family assessment centres provide a supportive environment where tailored training and guidance help you achieve your career ambitions. What kind of families will I be working with?
You’ll be supporting a diverse range of parents and children, each with their own unique needs and circumstances. From young parents learning to care for a newborn to families navigating complex safeguarding concerns, every family is different. Your role will involve observation, support, and contributing to parenting assessments that inform life-changing decisions. It’s meaningful work, and no two days are the same.
Do I need a background in social care?
Not at all. We build our teams from a wide range of professional backgrounds, and we recognise the value of transferable skills. Many of our team members have experience in education, Early Help, youth work, nurseries, health care, and other related fields. If you’re empathetic, observant, and committed to supporting others, we will provide the training and supervision to help you thrive in a family assessment centre environment.
Can I grow my career here?
Absolutely. From day one, you’ll be supported to reach your potential. We offer clear progression pathways into roles such as Senior Family Support Worker, Assessing Social Worker, Deputy Manager, and beyond. You’ll also have access to specialist opportunities in training, mentoring, and assessment practice, along with recognised qualifications to support your development. At First Blue Family Assessment, your growth is our priority.
